My daughter and I enjoyed evey moment of our evening at Antigua. We were lucky enough to get a table directly under the beautiful wall mural. The fresh salsa with cilantro was amazing! We also enjoyed the fresh guacamole, shrimp tacos and La Jefa tacos. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The flan was outstanding! We recommend this restaurant 100% and can't wait to eat here again!
Let me start by saying this is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in and around McHenry in my opinion. I have never had a bad meal from any one of their locations. The staff and service is exceptional every time my family and I visit, that is why I’m still giving them 5 stars after a disappointing visit today. I visited the Woodstock location today very close to opening time for lunch (which may have been my fault) and ordered 6 tamales rice and beans and it came out to around 30 bucks. I was disappointed to get home ready to eat just to realize I got some two day old possibly 3 day old tamales. I hope they can see this review and use it as constructive information and not some much a criticism on their businesses. I love their food and want them to stay around for a very long time so hopefully they can take some customer feedback and get better in this area. I do want to say the food was hot and still good but I hope they can make some adjustments to keep some of the items fresh like the tamales for us customers.
What a FANTASTIC little place in the Woodstock square! Definitely a hidden gem. Food was absolutely wonderful and BEAUTIFUL! The presentation alone was great! The ranchero sauce on the Mar Y Tierra was amazing and the skirt steak was prepared PERFECTLY! So glad we found this place, highly recommend and as Woodstock residents we will most definitely be back!
I ordered the taco lunch special which was delicious; one steak and one Al pastor. The salsas served with the chips were not spicy hot; the red one had tomato chunks and fresh cilantro, and the green one was smooth. I will be back to try everything on the menu! Great service and a real value for 9.99.
The food here is fabulous! We had the tacos and enchiladas al pastor, and it's among the best we've ever tasted. My son gets the enchiladas mole every time he comes. I had a couple margaritas made with dragon fruit and passionfruit, and they were a nice combination of sweet and tart. The bartender was very sweet and attentive. The place is well decorated, with some beautiful murals. The place is small, though, so get there early.
Great food and super friendly staff. We went there after leaving nearby restaurant due to a bad experience and poor service. We walked into Antigua and were greeted with super friendly staff members who tended to us right away. Alambres and El Valle are highly recommended. I wish it was closer because we had such a great experience.
Delicious food! Complimentary chips & salsa to start. Drink specials during the week. Burrito Suizo pictured, packed full of tasty ingredients and large portion of meat. The sauce is flavorful and you will definitely be full after this. Service was great, very friendly staff.
